Learn About Attorney Ryan G. Welker

I decided a long time ago that I wanted to be a problem solver and to help those facing difficult and complex situations. This decision led me to where I am today. I feel that the most fascinating part of the legal profession is that no two situations are the same. I take pride in finding narrowly tailored solutions to unique situations and challenges.

I was born in Columbus, Ohio, where I graduated from Centennial High School in 2004. I attended The Ohio State University and  graduated in 2008, Cum Laude, majoring in Political Science and minoring in Economics. I thereafter attended Capital University Law School and graduated in 2011, Cum Laude, with a concentration in Children and Family Law.

I was first exposed to estate planning and elder law early in my law school career. My first law-clerk position  required me to attend the probate court several times each week as a "runner", where  I quickly became acclimated with the process of the court (for both administration and guardianship cases). My understanding of both types of probate opened my eyes to several planning opportunities. Estate planning and elder law has been my practice of choice ever since.

Since my early law-school days, I have  found that assisting those looking forward to the future, both for themselves and their loved ones, is both challenging and satisfying.

I reside in the Worthington area with my wife and daughter. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family, reading books, and rooting for every Cleveland sports team. Additionally, I am passionate about the several non-profit, pro-bono, and non-legal groups that I participate in.
